Vegan Thanksgiving Turk'y - Bake or Sauteé? | Meatless Monday Week 48

Vegan Turk'y with Stuffing and Cranberry Sauce

Vegan Turk'y with Stuffing and Cranberry Sauce

Hi Family! Happy Vegan Thanksgiving!

This Vegan Turkey by Vegetarian Plus/VegeUSA® is our family's favorite! We have it every Thanksgiving and Christmas, in addition to other times of the year. You can find them in the freezer section of many health food stores, including Whole Foods Markets. We sauté ours instead of the manufacturer’s recommended baking - it's quicker and more savory! We show you both versions in this video so you can choose the method you prefer.

Preparation Time: 3 - 4 minutes
Cooking Time: 6 - 10 minutes
Yield: makes about 10 servings

INGREDIENTS and DIRECTIONS

1 Vegan Whole Turkey by Vegetarian Plus/VegeUSA®
Earth Balance® Original Spread for sautéing
Spike® seasoning (http://spike-it-up.com/product-eight-2/)
Sage
Thyme
Pepper

Let the turkey defrost completely as per the package instructions (it may take 24 hours so plan accordingly! "Carve" the turkey into medium-thick slices and sauté each slice for about 3 - 4 minutes in Earth Balance®, adding Spike®, sage, thyme and pepper to taste. Flip the slices after they are slightly brown and crispy. Sauté the other side for another 3 - 4 minutes then remove from pan and serve.

You won't be disappointed! Great vegan alternative for you or a family member that would like a vegan option on Thanksgiving.

Check out the recipes for more dishes we'll prepare this Thanksgiving.

Stuffing with Cranberry Sauce
BBQ Seitan
Macaroni and Cheese
Japanese Yams
Carrot Cake

Have a happy, healthy, compassionate Thanksgiving!
