MEATLESS MONDAY

In 2003, the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health started an initiative called “Meatless Monday” (www.MeatlessMonday.com) with the goal of reducing meat consumption by 15% to improve public health and the health of our planet. Even if you are not fully vegetarian, if everyone in the United States adopted a vegetarian diet just one day per week (surely we can do that!) the environmental benefits are huge.

Why not join millions of others, including major school districts such as the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. public school districts, and numerous colleges and universities such as Syracuse University, Vassar College, Carnegie Mellon University, UC Santa Cruz and many more in “Meatless Monday.” For a list of school districts, celebrities, chefs, political leaders, and more that have taken the pledge to go meatless one day a week, visit http://www.meatlessmonday.com/the-global-movement/.
