It was so nice to be able to spend Easter with our family! It was rare that Kamaal and Lonnie were both in town. We enjoyed one of our favorite, soulful meals of BBQ Seitan, Fried Chick'n, Macaroni and Cheese, Yams and Kale Slaw.

You know there had to be a vegan version of Fried Chick’n, right? That was very high on my conversion list! Try dipping in BBQ or Hot Sauce also or make a sandwich or wrap out of them! These stay moist and delicious for days.

**Our delicious VEGAN Mexican lunch at Gracias Madre!**

I fell in love with Mexican food when I moved to Los Angeles from Detroit over thirty years ago, but when I became vegetarian, it was difficult to find vegetarian or especially vegan Mexican food, so I improvised and created our own.

That's what I prefer but every now and then you just want to be served, right? We were absolutely thrilled when Gracias Madre opened in West Hollywood. The food is vegan, organic and Mexican. The restaurant is beautiful and suitable for a casual lunch or upscale dinner (LA style of course which means $300 jeans and nice shoes!).

If you're in the area, be sure to stop by. If you're coming for dinner - make reservations as it gets VERY crowded!
