I fell in love with Mexican food when I moved to Los Angeles from Detroit over thirty years ago, but when I became vegetarian, it was difficult to find vegetarian or especially vegan Mexican food, so I improvised and created our own.
That's what I prefer but every now and then you just want to be served, right? We were absolutely thrilled when Gracias Madre opened in West Hollywood. The food is vegan, organic and Mexican. The restaurant is beautiful and suitable for a casual lunch or upscale dinner (LA style of course which means $300 jeans and nice shoes!).
